ramsar-exchange -- Ramsar Exchange

About ramsar-exchange

The Ramsar Exchange is the official, administrative e-mail mailing list of the Convention on Wetlands (Ramsar, Iran, 1971), which was created by the Ramsar Secretariat in 1997 to facilitate communication among the Secretariat, the Administrative Authorities and national focal points in the Contracting Parties, and others officially charged with implementation of the Convention.

This is in partial fulfillment of Article 8.2(d) of the Convention text, which requires the Secretariat "to forward notification of any alterations to the List [of Wetlands of International Importance], or changes in character of wetlands included therein, to all Contracting Parties and to arrange for these matters to be discussed at the next Conference". In most cases, your e-mail address has been provided to the Secretariat by your national government as that of an appropriate Ramsar authority in your country to receive such notifications.

The Ramsar Exchange consists of three separate mailing lists, one each for English, French, and Spanish. We have taken the liberty of including your address in the English section of the Ramsar Exchange, and we ask you to inform us if we should be using a different e-mail address or additional addresses or if you wish to be included in the French and/or Spanish sections in addition this one.

To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the ramsar-exchange Archives. (The current archive is only available to the list members.)
